ABOUT
Cass County was one of the first counties to adopt zoning in 1969. It is the goal of Zoning to encourage growth in an orderly fashion while at the same time preserving and encouraging commercial and industrial growth.

The Cass County Zoning Department serves the rural Cass County area, and we provide building permits and inspection services through interlocal agreements for the Villages of Alvo, Avoca, Cedar Creek, Elmwood, Greenwood, Murray, Nehawka, South Bend, Union and Weeping Water.

SERVICES
Applications for building permits and inspections, flood plain development permits, county road access permits, zoning changes, conditional use permits, platting or replatting of subdivisions and other land use changes are administered by this office.

The Planning and Zoning Department also maintains agendas and minutes for the Planning Commission.
