Welcome to the County Treasurer
Pursuant to Nebraska State Statutes, the County Treasurer collects property taxes to be distributed to schools, fire districts, cities, villages, etc. In conjunction with the State Department of Motor Vehicles, we also oversee motor vehicle registrations and titles.
You can obtain a driver's license in any Nebraska DMV driver license office. Vehicle titles and registrations are issued in the county where you reside.

24-Hour Drop Box
Our secure 24-hour drop box provides a convenient way to submit payments and documents outside of regular business hours. Located outside the Treasurer's office, at 446 Main St (silver box located in drive-thru on the Northwest side of building) the drop box is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Items placed in the drop box are collected and processed by Treasurer's Office staff on the next business day. Please do not put cash in the drop box. To ensure your payment is properly credited, include all required payment information, such as your payment stub, tax statement, or vehicle renewal notice.
The 24-hour drop box is a safe, secure, and convenient option for residents who are unable to visit the office during normal business hours.

Forms of Payment
Our office accepts cash, check, money orders and debit/credit cards (additional fees will apply) we also accept payments online for motor vehicles and real estate (see "online service links above")
However, we DO NOT accept debit or credit card payments on any Tax Sale Redemptions.
Please note: any returned payment made online at Nebraska Taxes Online (NSF, Unable to locate, etc.) will need to be paid back to us in certified funds only. Including cashier's checks, cash or money orders. There are no exceptions to this policy.
