NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASES:

Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. § 77-1633, that a representative of the following political subdivisions within Cass County will meet on the 18th day of September, 2025 at 6:30p.m., in the Plattsmouth Community Center, 308 S. 18th Street, Plattsmouth NE 68048 for the purpose of conducting a joint public hearing to obtain public input on property tax increases proposed by the subdivisions.
Cass County 402-949-0232, property tax requested: $18,664,575.20
City of Louisville 402-234-7605, property tax requested: $599,726.03
City of Plattsmouth 402-296-2522, property tax requested: $1,995,760
Plattsmouth Community Schools 402-296-3361, property tax requested: $12,598,373
Said hearing is open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact the Cass County Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if accommodations are required.
There is no item on the agenda for this joint public hearing other than discussion of each political subdivision's intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the "allowable growth percentage" defined in § 77-1633. The political subdivisions shall make their presentations in the order listed above.
Cass County taxpayers may be taxed by political subdivisions that are headquartered in a different county. The political subdivisions will only participate in the joint public hearing of the county in which they are headquartered. Please reference your postcard or the public hearing notice of the county where the political subdivision is headquartered for date, time and location of joint public hearing.
