1. RURAL PARCELS (UNINCORPORATED AREAS)

Water service in rural Cass County is divided among three separate Rural Water Districts (RWD). Because their service boundaries do not strictly follow township lines, property owners should contact the district serving their geographic region to verify water main availability.

  • Cass County RWD #1 (East & Southeast)
    • Coverage Area: Rural areas surrounding Plattsmouth, Murray, and the eastern side of the county.

2. INCORPORATED CITIES & VILLAGES

If your property sits within municipal boundaries, water service is managed directly by the city or village clerk's office.

3. SANITARY AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS (SIDs) & LAKES

Several housing developments and lakeside communities operate independent, self-contained water infrastructure.

4. PRIVATE WELL PERMITS (NO WATER MAINS AVAILABLE)

If there are no public or rural water district mains accessible near your parcel, you must drill a private well. Private well registrations and watershed protections are governed by the local Natural Resources District (NRD):

  • Nemaha NRD (Covers the southern tier of Cass County)
